Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)
Travel and Ground Transport

(Singapore City, Singapore)

Close to Bedok, the Pasir Ris Park, Paya Lebar and Tampines, Changi Airport (SIN) in Singapore is well connected to the Lion City via all of the expected ground transportation options.

For those not hiring their own set of wheels, getting to and from Singapore Changi Airport will likely involve a bus, coach, train or shuttle journey, or perhaps a ride in a taxi cab, private car or limousine. Those wishing to find out more should head to the Ground Transport Desks, which are located within the Arrival Halls.

Buses

Changi Airport is served by a number of public buses (SBS Transit and SMRT Buses), which reach the city centre (service no. 36) anywhere between 45 minutes and one hour. With busy bus stations located in the basement areas of SIN's Terminals 1, 2, and 3, the buses run daily from 06:00 to midnight and charge a fixed rate, although change is not usually available.

Shuttle Buses

'Airport Shuttle' buses connect any areas of central Singapore, including the business district and many prominent hotels. This shared-shuttle bus service collects passengers from opposite the custom's gates in the Arrivals Halls of Terminal 1, 2 and 3. Leaving at regular intervals between 09:00 to 23:00, the shuttles can accommodate up to six passengers.

There are also free shuttle services from Terminal 3 (Gate no. 7) between the Changi Business Park, as well as the MRT stations at Mo Kio, Sengkang and Toa Payoh. This services operates between the hours of 10:00 and 22:00.

Train

To reach the city from Changi Airport, you may like to consider using the MRT Train Station, which is to be found in the basement area of both Terminals 2 and 3, being reached via the Arrival Halls and Departure Halls. Simply head westwards towards the Tanah Merah train station. Trains run between 05:30 and 11:20 Monday to Saturday, with slightly reduced hours on Sundays

Taxi Cabs

Taxis are readily available outside of the Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall on Level 1 and also at the south end of the Terminal 2 Arrival Hall on Level 1. The journey into the heart of Singapore city will take around 25 to 35 minutes. Surcharges are made when taxis are used between the hours of 17:00 and 06:00, and also for additional stops. The main operators are:

  • Citycab
  • Premier
  • SMRT
  • SMART
  • Transcab

Limousines

Limousines at SIN can be booked in advance or from the arrivals halls on the first level of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, opposite the customs gates.
